Lovely photo. I appreciate the symmetry of the swan and its reflection, and also the way the golden glow on the feathers stands out from the background to add depth.

One thing I can't decide is if it would make or break the photo to crop off more at the top to eliminate the brighter background water.

Thanks. Personally I wanted to keep the water there, since it's really nice looking but I think it's more of a matter of taste.

Your welcome.

I meant to ask you, is this from a boat? Or just a nice zoom?

I was just sitting on rock there... those swans usually come quite close anyway, I used 300mm + 1.4TC (making it 420mm) and finally I cropped this from horizontal image.

Damn... thats... beautifull.

Wonderfull shot, although i cant help but think it might look better if it was less centered, maybe more space above the head? not really sure.

Thanks :) Perhaps that might have worked, though I wanted to emphasize the somewhat symmetry between the swan and reflection.

Brilliant!! It sure is golden! I think I'd litt up the reflection to match the "original" colours, though, as I find it a little too disturbing to be a background, and a little too dark to draw my full attention and fall into place with rest of the picture.

Is it anoying that I'm saying "I think" etc all the time? I'm no encyklopedia after all, and want to amplify that what I'm saying is my opinions and not the road to glory, it you know what i mean... :)

Thanks, good points.

I haven't even noticed it. :D It's good to emphasize that it's just your opinions... personally I do it especially while commenting some peoples works first time.

superb structure and framing, dunno if u cropped it but either way its well done. the soft colours are really unusual with water but it really works for the swan.
a superb symmetry also

Thanks. :) Yep, I had to crop it... it was actually horizontal photos, since I wasn't close enough even for 420mm there.

Cool! I like how the water is frozen in place. Quick shutter speed I'm guessing?
